From Rifugio Faloria hike down a pleasant mule-track, marked by signpost 212 as far as Ristorante Rio Gere. From there continue along a short stretch of the National Road 48 in the direction of Cortina until you meet the sign indicating trail 206 to Mandres.
Below the trail, there is the peculiar lake of Costalares.
Then walk again through the woods to descend to Mandres and, from there, to the village of Pecol.

Mountain GroupFaloria: Rifugio Faloria - Val Orita - Fraina
From Rifugio Faloria, that can be easily reached by cable-car from the centre of Cortina, start uphill to Rifugio Tondi along the mule-track 213. Then take trail 214 and walk down along Val Orita, characterised by screes and rocky terrain; at the end of the valley the path continues through the forest and reaches Baita Fraina along an easy mule-track. A bus service will take you back to the centre of Cortina (high season).

Mountain GroupRifugio MietresFaloria: Fraina - Malga Lareto - Mietres
From Baita Fraina, follow trail 220 and then 221 to Mandres. Shortly before the intermediate station of Faloria cable-car, take trail 206 and walk along this trail as far as you reach National Road 48, just below Rio Gere.
Cross the road and you reach Malga Lareto; from there an easy mule-track , marked by signpost 211, leads to Rifugio Mietres through a charming forest.
From the Rifugio, you can either walk to Cortina down soft meadows (about 45’) or you can take the convenient chairlift to Guargné, near Cortina swimming pool.

Mountain GroupCristallo-Mietres: Forcella Zumeles - Val Padeon
Map of Cristallo-Mietres pathsFrom Rio Gere, take trail 211 towards Rifugio Mietres. Do not go down to the mountain inn, but bear right on your trail as far as the intersection with trail 201 leading to Forcella Zumeles.
Your way is now uphill, with a lot of switchbacks up the steep grassy slopes of the Crepe di Zumeles. Each break you take will be rewarded by the expansive view of Cortina below and the charming close-up view of the Pomagagnon walls ahead.
At the saddle, a striking vista suddenly unfolds before you: the majestic Monte Cristallo. After a well-deserved resting stop, you descend the other slope towards Val Padeon. Once you reach the unpaved road coming from Son Forca, continue towards Ospitale on trail # 203. At Ospitale you may take the bus (bus service Dobbiaco – Cortina). Verify bus schedules.

Mountain GroupRifugio Son ForcaCristallo: Passo Tre Croci - Son Forca - Ospitale
From the Tre Croci Pass, that can be reached from Cortina by a convenient bus service, take the easy trail 203 to Son Forca pass. From there you can either walk up to Rifugio Son Forca or down along Val Padeon on a smooth unpaved road as far as Rifugio Ospitale.
To avoid the uphill stretch you can take the chairlift from Rio Gere to Rifugio Son Forca.
From Rifugio Ospitale you can get back to Cortina by the "Dobbiaco-Cortina" bus- service.
